Mithril Ponies oWNED AND LOVED

We love to hear about our ponies that have given pleasure over the years.  Here are just a few ...

Jarrah is from Owendale Brandyman and his dam was Mithril Mary Poppins, he has such a great nature and has taught me so much about riding.

I have recommended so many people to get welsh ponies as they are the best childrens horses, i just wish i could  invent some growing pills so Jarrah would grow to 16hh.

Ive had Jarrah for 11 years now and he is still my favourite, he took me from grade 4 at Deniliquin pony club to grade 1 in every discipline,We competed in showjumping state titles 3 years in a row as well as grade 2 state eventing titles, and individually  dressage and team dressage state titles. We have also competed in open ag shows all around a region with too many winnings and placings to mention. He was champion showjumping at our local pony club grade1, jumping any where up to 1.20m, (he would never touch a rail) for 2 years running.

I have added just a few photos of my beautiful boy.

Thanks Bec

MITHRIL GRINGO  G-2452  Born 1988

Sire: Kinlieth Falcon (iid)

Dam: Mithril Genevieve

SOD: Owendale Warwick

“Not so much an enquiry but a hello. I found your website and thought you might like to know I have one of your ponies 'Mithril Gringo' aka Stickybeak.

My parents got him for me over ten years ago, when I was 11 and he has been an excellent pony.  He carried me to pony club and horse trials for a number of years and then was ridden by a number of other kids at pony club - you could throw a nervous kid on him and know he'd look after them.

At 23 he's living a quiet life now in the paddock getting bossed around by my two mares, but still gets pulled into babysitting duties when we have young kids come around.

I've included a few of photos of him that i thought you might like.

“Just thought id send you some photos of Marco Polo at the All Welsh last year.  His first time out under saddle in the pouring rain.  He has huge dressage movement and the judge just wasn't into it.  He was such a good boy.

cheers Karen”

MITHRIL MARY ROSE M-14562  born 2006

Sire: Glenmore Buccaneer

Dam: Mithril Mary Kathleen

SOD: Owendale Brandyman

This was at her first ever cross country training day and she was super.  We didn't get to  jump but she went up banks and down and over logs without any fuss.  She is not frightened of anything and is going to be a lot of fun jumping I think.  She does not get ridden much but I can just drag her out of the paddock and she is perfect.  I couldn't ask for a better pony. and of course everyone thinks she is just too gorgeous.

We purchased “Bagel” 2 years ago from SA when my daughter was seven.  He is her second pony.  Since getting him her riding has gone through the roof.  He is the best pony.  His temperament is outstanding.  There is nothing he won’t do for her. He is so loyal and when she is on his back, he puts in 110%. He comes running to her when he sees her.  He stands still when she sews in the rosettes, puts on his makeup, cleans his feet, no matter what he will not put a foot wrong.

He jumps, shows, does dressage and chases cow plus more.

He has been the top pony for the past two years, since arriving.  My daughter has won champion rider on him two years running at the Royal and he has won champion mount in the junior ring two years running.  He has qualified for the National HOTY in Victoria both years as well as the SHC HOTY in NSW.

I have enclosed some photos of him with my daughter.

The Sire is Fairway Skyline and the Dam is Mithril Crumpet.  He was born on the 6th October 1997 and his show name is Roskyle Silver Ghost.

MITHRIL SURAD  S-2844  2008

Section C stallion

Sire: Barnon Mikardo

Dam: Fernhill Champagne

SOD: Owendale Brandyman

Surad - ‘Radar’ to his many friends, is resident at Goldrush Stud, Georgetown, Queensland.

His owner, Noeline Arnett writes:

As the kids have grown we have demand for larger ponies, plus I want to have a go at campdraft which is the main equestrian sport in north west Queensland.  I was visiting Chris Milvain from Mithril Stud and watched Radar and Mithril Vagabond play in the paddock.

Both ponies moved gracefully and were surefooted while up to their wild antics even though the ground was slippery at the time.  Then Radar came right up to me and changed immediately from playful colt to equine teddy bear.

This was the deal breaker as not only did he demonstrate athletic ability, but also the important good manners for a future sire.

Radar has a lovely hip, sloping shoulder, straight legs, good rein and carriage, natural balance/power and all the attributes of a fine horse under saddle.

He also has a lovely large soft eye that all the teenage girls fall in love with, and has a people oriented kind temperament - Radar is the favourite of my daughters.

‘Just wanted to drop you a line about Witchery. My son Tadhg (8) has started riding her and they are getting on great.

Saturday they rode in the Scone Horse Festival Parade - lots of noise and movement. Poor Witchery nearly had a heart attack when the brass band was coming back down the street at her, but she was very well behaved.

Sunday we had our first day at Pony Club and they both had a really fantastic day. Witchery was a real star, jumped beautifully, did flatwork and handler work and then around the cross country course. Bit afraid of the water but jumped it in the end and was doing some fairly large logs. The cross country course has been used for state so it's big and lots of really good jumps. A lot of the ponies became very excited when they were coming home, however Witchery was very cool. Tadhg was delighted with her.

They have also been having their lesson every week with Warren Dalley and getting on really great. She is really starting to work well and we are so happy with her. Lots of people commented on her and what a lovely pony she is.
